TEACHING METHODOLOGY
Foreword
My mission is to develop not only technically proficient pianists but also thoughtful and well-rounded musicians. I believe that great artistry is built on a foundation of curiosity, discipline, and joy—and my teaching reflects that philosophy which is achieved in the following ways.
Individualized Instruction
Every student is unique. Whether a beginner, an aspiring professional, or an adult returning to the instrument, I tailor each lesson to meet the student's goals, learning style, and musical background. My approach balances structure with flexibility, ensuring progress while nurturing creativity.
Classical Foundation, Modern Application
While rooted in classical technique and repertoire, my studio embraces a wide range of musical styles—including jazz, improvisation, sacred music, and popular genres. This diverse training allows students to develop both fluency and versatility, empowering them to express themselves in any musical setting.
Theory, History, and Artistic Thinking
Music is more than notes on a page. Students in my studio engage with music theory, aural skills, and music history to better understand the "why" behind what they play. I encourage students to think critically, listen deeply, and connect their performance to broader musical and cultural contexts.
Performance & Confidence
Students regularly participate in recitals, masterclasses, and studio events to develop performance skills and stage presence. These experiences help build confidence, musical maturity, and a strong sense of accomplishment.
Composition & Creativity
As part of a comprehensive education, students are invited to explore composition and improvisation. These creative exercises foster independence and deepen understanding of musical form, harmony, and expression.
